About Us

Traditional Italian Food with a modern twist...

Newtown’s newest kid on the block is Casa Mia Osteria; the brainchild of born-and-raised Italians Andrea Nazzari and Valerio Boncompagni. Their concept lies in fusing the traditional recipes of northern and southern Italy, with a contemporary spin - all served up in an easy and welcoming space infused with the famed warm hospitality of the Italian Restaurants.

With years of experience in both their native Italy and in Australia, it's no surprise that Casa Mia Osteria resonates strongly of both places - in a way which feels crafted, authentic and clearly the product of a deep friendship and an even deeper passion for gastronomy and hospitality.

‘We wanted to create a space where people would feel cosy and warm, as if they were dining at home with their loved ones. We want our guests to feel welcome and enjoy a playful and relaxed atmosphere, always providing a great culinary experience.’

After working in Michelin starred restaurants in Rome and Milan, chef Valerio moved to Sydney where he spent a decade at Baccomatto Surry Hills. Casa Mia Osteria’s produce is sustainably sourced from local farmers.

Our menu contains allergens and is prepared in a kitchen that handles nuts, shellfish, gluten. Whilst all reasonable
efforts are taken to accommodate guest dietary needs, we cannot guarantee that our food will be allergen free.
Groups of 8 or more will incur a 8% service charge.
